Ladders

Picture of Barrel Washing System

The rolling ladder was introduced to the market place in the early 1990's and it was a welcomed safety item in the barrel warehouse. Western Square is proud to be the sole distributor for these rolling ladders. The ladders come in three sizes to accommodate 4 high barrel stacks (using our standard seven inch double bar rack), 5 high barrel stacks and 6 high barrel stacks. All of these ladders come with a back ladder. The back ladder is used primarily when you have a row of barrels that back to a wall. Because of the angle of the ladder you need to stand on the back ladder to reach the last vertical column's third, fourth and fifth barrel from the bottom.

When designing your barrel room you will need an additional 6" of aisle space to accommodate using a rolling narrow ladder. These rolling narrow ladders are only 18" wide but have a base of 28" wide for stability. The wheels roll underneath the barrels but clear the racks. When racks are set on 6.5' centers the ladder clears even 70 gallon barrels by at least 2" on both sides and the base clears the racks by at least 2" on both sides. The rolling ladders have locking castors for safety and the rolling ladders are to be used specifically for gaining access to the barrels and should not be used for any other purpose in the winery. Call your Western Square Represenative about our standard size (4 high, 5 high, 6 high) narrow rolling ladders and our non standard sizes.
